by car:
- coming from the South of France:
Follow the motorway A51 from Aix en Provence until La
Saulce , then take the RN 85 direction Gap and the RN
94 direction Briançon.
- coming from the North of France:
After Grenoble, follow the RN 91 and pass over the Col
du Lautaret (the col du Galibier is open only in the summer).The
village is about 40 km from the Italian border, 108 km
from Turin over the col de Montgenèvre.

by train:
There's an excellent train service to/from Briançon.
From the Briancon train station, the SNCF runs a shuttle
bus to Monetier, taking 30-40 minutes. The shuttle runs
every couple of hours , from 6:40 am to 06:15 pm. An overnight
train connects Briancon to Paris. Other connections exist
with Marseille, Lyon and Grenoble. For the seasonal timetable
contact the tourist information office or SNCF France. |
